It's been a hot hot minute for beauty here on the blog, but I have been feeling adventurous and trying a plethora of new products over the last three or four months. I thought I would put together a little monthly beauty edit that has been perfect for the summer months.
1 | GLOSSIER BALM DOTCOM
Beauty hero #1 will be no surprise to anyone and is Glossier's Balm Dotcom. Although, maybe a bit of a boring product to be a favourite, but goodness it is an essential product! I just love the consistency and staying power of the Balm Dotcom, it's not too shiny to slippery and at the same time not too thick and sticky. I have it in three flavours, the original, coconut and rose. The original also makes a great versatile product and can use anywhere you fancy that is a bit dry and in need of TLC.
The next product on the list is the incredible Peter Thomas Roth Hydragel Eye Patches. These guys are so effective on the ol' eye bags and have a lovely cooling sensation. With 30 pairs in one tub, it is really great value for money, unlike the one-pair sets that are mostly available.
I have become a huge fan of nude lipsticks over the past few years, but I can be incredibly difficult to find the perfect one in the lipstick sea. I have been using this one from M.A.C. for possibly almost a year and I absolutely love it. M.A.C. lipsticks are pretty incredible, but what sets this one a part is it's consistency and finish. It meets perfectly in the middle of a matte and a creamsheen. It has the pigmentation of the matte - as the name liptensity would suggest - but doesn't have the flat, matte effect on the lips. It still easily moves around on the lips and has a lovely stain finish. Doe is also a beautiful darker nude that has been permanently in my handbag.
I actually wasn't a total fan on this lip product as I guess I always have reservations about liquid lipsticks. I didn't want to end up with a matte, flat look that dried out my lips and eventually flaked off. But this product doesn't do any of those things. Although, it is this beautiful, dramatic colour when worn opaque, I actually love wearing it like a stain. You only need the tiniest amount and I just blend it in with my fingers and you've got a berry just-bitten look. It's the perfect way to add a bit of colour into your everyday routine.
There isn't too much to say about a facial spray, but I've been loving it on summer nights for a refreshing, cooling sensation and for when you need that extra hydration.
6 | SOAP & GLORY MAKE YOURSELF YOUTHFUL SERUM
I always find myself coming back time and time again to Soap & Glory's Make Me YouthFul Serum. It's lightweight and super moisturising - and also smells amazing. I actually always notice a huge difference in my skin when I use this product, but I can only ever pick it up if I'm heading to the UK, so I I never have it always on hand. A great product if you're looking for something effective and affordable.
I fell head over heels for this product and I could not believe how well this product worked for me. I've always been skeptical as to how effective eye cream products can be and I've never really seen a huge difference once using them. I purchased a small sample of this Kiehl's one and was interested to see how good this product was, as I have heard many great reviews. Guys, I am telling you this the best eye cream on the market. I saw such a enormous difference in my eye bags within the first week of using it. Even when I had barely any sleep, I didn't have eye bags. I almost finished this small pot and I will definitely be repurchasing the full sized product!
8 | GLOSSIER WOWDER POWDER
I was really pleasantly surprised with Glossier's Wowder. I have loyally stuck to my Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder for many years now as I haven't had a product that can compare to how it can keep my skin glowing and non-cakey as well as setting it for the day, until now. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to love and use Hourlgass but Glossier's powder really impressed me. Not only is the packaging well thought out - a stretchy mesh to disperse the product, and a lid to keep the powder in place when travelling - but it sets my makeup beautiful. It has a more matter finish than Hourglass, but it doesn't leave my skin cakey at all but sets my makeup for the day.
I am totally obsessed with this bronzer and has been my everyday go to over the past 3-4 months. It is so soft and buttery, and applies to the skin super easily and evenly. It's not too pigmented (no one needs to be dealing with a patchy bronzer in the morning) so it's easy to apply in the morning with absolutely no fuss.
Hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on my beauty favs this month!
