MY GOALS FOR 2019

There has been come major radio silence on the blog here this year so far, and it totally has not been intentional! I started working full-time in fashion at the end of last year and quite honestly, I am still figuring out this whole work-life balance thing.

I extremely late to the party, but I have been meaning to share a few goals for the upcoming year. And, I specifically wanted to use the word 'goals' and not resolutions because I had much less of a 'new start' feeling between 2018 and 2019. There were a quite a few changes that happened in life at the end of the year and also changes in my views towards fashion that I wanted to maintain and push further this year.

1. FIGURING OUT A WORK / LIFE BALANCE

I thought it would only be right to start with this one, seeing as it has been the reason I have been so quiet here on the blog. To be completely honest, since starting a full-time job, I have been finding it difficult to find that creative energy that is the driving force behind this blog. I still love to blog as much as ever and by no means am I giving up, but I have been struggling to manage my time and getting the creative juices flowing. I have been really motivated at work and it has just meant the blog has taken a bit of a back seat at the moment. Be patient with me, I will be getting this blog back up and running very soon!

2. CONTINUE TO SHOP MORE CONSCIOUS

This one was a huge change for me in the way that I saw fashion, consumed fashion and content and generally what fashion meant to me. I feel it hugely transformed the way I wanted to blog and what kind of content that I want to put out. It is a subject that is gaining more and more traction and I just want to continue to keep learning and educating myself on sustainable fashion. And I hope I can keep driving the sustainability content here on the blog for the better. #shopconscious content will definitely here to stay!

3. KEEP FIT (TO FEEL GOOD)

I never really appreciated the value of exercise and keeping fit until the second half of last year when I went without it. I have danced since I was five years old and was lucky enough to continue classes even while I was at uni. But since finishing uni, jetting off to Europe and starting a full-time job, I have since stopped and I didn't do any exercise for a solid five to six months. I noticed a huge difference in my mental health and changes in my body. I ended up joining the gym with Jordan in December - which has been an interesting experience to say the least and very different to dance classes but I am already feeling so much better mentally and I hope to keep it up this year.

4. BUILDING A FUNCTIONAL WARDROBE & BEING OKAY WITH LESS

Since starting full-time work, I have also since noticed how dysfunctional my wardrobe is. Although, I have a lot of clothes, there are just so many gaps in my foundations and basics, and a lot of pieces that just do not work with the other pieces in my wardrobe. I hope this year, I can turn my wardrobe around and fill in a lot of those missing gaps and create a super functional wardrobe consisting of a lot less in general. With that, I want to change my attitude towards hoarding and cluttering, and always wanting the latest and greatest. I don't think I will ever be able to achieve a capsule wardrobe, but I want to be able to have much smaller amount of clothing but consisting of pieces that are functional and versatile this year.

Those are my short & sweet goals for 2019 and I hope you guys are also putting your best foot forward this year :)
