The mornings & evenings are getting a little cooler but the weather is still pretty great (as shown here) considering we're almost halfway through March. Like I said in my last post, I've really been itching for the cooler weather so I can at least start wearing sleeves, let alone start layering. This outfit was just about weather appropriate, with the exception of a couple of hours in the middle of day where I was sweating just a little. These Tudor-esque shapes have been popping up over the last couple few weeks and I've instantly gravitated towards them. I think what attracts me most to them is the beautiful feminine shape that they create, which is very unique to anything on the market at the moment. There's a beautiful Nicola Finetti dress I have my eye on...
This Keepsake top has been beautifully modernised with very autumnal floral embroidery which makes the perfect transitional piece. It's also great quality, the fabric is lovely and thick so it holds its shape nicely. I can't wait to pair it with my beige Levis once it gets colder! But for now and to keep within the navy theme and enhance the silhouette, my American Apparel tennis skirt (an oldie but a goodie!) made the perfect layering piece. And as always, sneakers to finish it off to maintain the balance between masculine and feminine elements.
The top isn't the only star in today's outfit. Check out these killer statement earrings from Alix Yang. I've been finding any excuse to wear them over the past month, and they honestly go with everything! I've been pairing them with the usual suspects - white tees & shirts - but they surprisingly go with even statement outfits. So, I think you'll be seeing a lot of them in the future!
