Greetings from Melbourne! I sit here writing from the comfy hotel coach, next to the heater, very excited to share with you my new found love for statement earrings and a brand that you'll definitely be wanting to check out.
I parted ways with costume jewellery quite a few years ago now and developed a love for high quality, minimal jewellery over the past few years. The real obsession for more statement pieces began early this year. It all started on ASOS, because what better place to dip your uncertain toes into a trend? There, I was surprised to find quite a variety of sterling silver pieces and I bought myself a pair of safety pin earrings. I think I wore for a good few weeks and I was very impressed with what ASOS had to offer. Naturally, I found myself on ASOS again on the hunt for more earrings and again I landed on the perfect pair that was minimal but more statement. My verdict is, that ASOS has great affordable pieces, but the mechanisms are slightly primitive and the metal very malleable. So my search began to look for more premium brands that didn't necessarily break the bank.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen me really embracing the statement earring. It has been a particularly helpful styling tool in the winter as well, if you want to dress more warmly and plainly, earrings can do a world of good to an outfit with not much effort at all. After the Reliquia Spiral earring purchase, it was probably only fitting to go bigger and bolder.
So it is finally time to introduce you to Alix Yang Jewellery and the stunning Jane earrings. They are an Australian label I happened upon on Instagram a few weeks ago, before their launch and they were exactly what I was looking for. The whole range is beautiful and effortless and their earrings in particular are the perfect combinations of statement and minimal. Their pieces are also very high quality. The Jane earrings in particular are 14K gold-plated and rhodium-plated brass. All the talking can be done by this pair of earrings alone, so make sure to tie that hair up and keep your makeup minimal. I have always been an avid metal mixer too, so it's as if these earrings were made for me. Can you tell I'm in love?
I think I'll love you and leave you here while I continue to swoon over these earrings. A Melbourne photo diary will be making it's way to the blog up next!
